We all use the internet thinking we have great purchase power, yet brands track our every movement from the data trails we leave (cookies, clicktags, etc) that show our interests and decision making process. They use this to undoubtably tip the consumer-brand balance in their favour...
You might have been led to believe you (the consumer) no longer rule... Look again. When global Rock band The FooFighters failed to pick up Italy on their latest world tour, the locals reacted in spectacular style, showing that through Viral video and the power of social media you can make a difference.
Dave Grohl (Band leader) responds with an equally impressive video message in Italian, promising that the band and their management have noted Italy now deserve a spot on the tour list.
So whats the moral of the story? Viral video is without question the way to get noticed, wether you are consumer or brand management.
Band, Record Labels & Fans....??
Everyone wins...
