So following on from my post about cave men, and graffiti its time for a little more introspection. If the reality that we all once lived in caves and scratched primitive art into the walls wasn't enough to shake your creativity, then imagine what our ancestors would have done with modern technology.
Histories long epic list of struggles, war, torture and survival, what if all those years had been documented with men each been wielding iPhones or struggling for survival whilst strapped to a GoPro.
The way we record and digitalise our lives today, almost certainly (and hopefully) witnessing such terrible events through another perspective would have redefined our principals and societies general loose attitude towards smart phones being pointed at everything and anything.
This is a little far fetched and gruesome to imagine, instead I prefer to dwell on what some of the greatest minds in history would have made of such liberties. Fortunately ‘Alliance Française' had the idea before me and almost profoundly mocked up everybody's favourite mad genius Van Gogh in the act of “selfy”. Would he really have turned the camera on himself?
....One of those ideas you just wish you had taken whilst it was free, and looking at it now, a seminal piece of advertising. My mind spirals with thoughts of what application Leonardo Da Vinci or Sigmund Freud might have come up with for their smart phones.
Perhaps it should be called “Art from a completely absurd perspective”
